Why am I not out celebrating the countdown of Merdeka?
It's just another day to me. The only holiday I look forward to is Christmas people. I already see fireworks during New Year's Eve every year, which I think is more than enough. I don't have a fetish for anything pyro related. Once a year of massive fireworks is enough for me.

I also don't enjoy the sardine canning at most times. Plus, I'm not a drinker nor a party goer, so I rather have them holidays in a more conventional way. And you know what I think about celebrating Merdeka?

If I celebrate it, I would be lying to myself as I do not truly love Malaysia. You can't quite blame me can you? Our country is being governed by majority of almost no-brainers. I think our national anthem should be changed! Seriously, it's high time they do it. To what you ask? You know that song. "It's All About The Money"... or hang on we could also come up with one entitled "Melayu Sahaja Boleh, Malaysia Mana Boleh". What say you?

I'm not 100% anti-Malaysia but some of the facts are freaking obvious it's hard to ignore/deny. Our anti-theft/ anti-crime is even a bigger crying shame.

Shall I even venture into that topic?
No, I'd rather not. I don't want to dampen the spirits of those who celebrate and BELIEVE in MERDEKA DAY.

So run along and blow them whistles and be happy I guess.


To me, I will only celebrate Merdeka if and when the government stops practicing racism, and also if I experienced May 13th. It is only then, I will be proud to be a Malaysian. Otherwise? Pfft, I was only born here...not by choice.

For those who don't know what May 13th means, fucking shame on you. Don't call yourself a Malaysian.

I've been on it for quite a fair bit, not wanting to be mingling and walking through crowds. I think it's that time of the month. Hah! There's of course other reasons I guess. Remember about the girly person who I can't stand because of her selfish and I-expect-things-to-go-my-way personality? Well, that thing I told you guys about is happening soon. :(

Urgh. I fucking hate it.
It is pissing me off.
The fact that I'm disliking her is becoming more real ya know.
Ah well...Life's a bitch and a half at times right?
I just gotta put up with it eh?
On the other hand, I'm trying to avoid it as much as I can.

I told Peter that I finally found an answer to the the question "Why is NY so superb?"

No, its not Central Park. Nope, not Times Sq or Broadway or Fifth Avenue either. Not shopping, not the food. I'd say I fuckin love New York because it means I'll never have to watch another Hollywood blockbuster hit ever again. At least not the ones I don't really wanna watch.

You girls know how it is in KL. Come Friday night, what do we do? Hitting the clubs seem to be the overrated choice and lepak-ing at one of the endless mamak shops KL has to offer is okay but I already do that on weeknights. So most people end up going to the movies. I sometimes cannot argue that going to the movies is like having 'comfort food'.

But once you get there, the ticket queues are long as hell....and the biggest bummer - all they have to offer are big-budgeted Hollywood flicks. You know what I'm talkin about. Car racing, shooting, explosion, damsel-in-distress being saved by her hero of the day etc...maybe my imagination is a little limited when it comes to that but feel free to apply yours. Tee hee.

I don't know about everyone else but movies to me are not just suppose to be entertaining but they're also brainfood. So are good books. I think we need them to fuel our brain; to stop it from rotting and slipping into auto-pilot, which would eventually lead us to not having a life well-lived. Hee. So, my major complain is that, how the heck am I suppose to feed my brain if the only thing I'm watching consists of out-of-this-world tales which are totally irrelevant to my life? Or, any other normal person's life for that matter?

Anyway, the foreign movie Princesas prompted the birth of this entry. I know it is not gonna be available in cinemas in Malaysia (no way jose!) and I doubt its gonna be possible to get it from your local pirated DVD supplier either. But who knows. Maybe you're really brilliant? I highly recommed it.

I'm taking up th TESOL course next week already.
Excited would be an understatement to describe what I feel about it.
The endless opportunities that comes with it is possibly mind blowing.

Oh hey, I learnt something new again from my Spanished infested friend.
She told me how Brazillians celebrate and welcome the New Year.
They basically all wear all whites and stand by at the beach.
At the stroke of midnight, they all jump over the first 12 waves.
Imagine it huh? What a pretty sight it would be.

Sigh... If only we had all the money in the world huh?
We'd be able to travel like no tomorrow.
