Another film in competition
YEO Joon Han’s short comedy Girl in a Soap Bubble will be competing at the Hawaii International Film Festival which kicks off this Thursday.
The film stars Jerrica Lai and model/actor Steve Yap, and revolves around Ah Bee (Lai), a simpleton who is left in charge of a laundry business when the owner takes a holiday.
When Yap’s handsome character drops off his laundry, she is instantly smitten. Simple she might be but she knows her plain, uneducated self would never stand a chance with him. So she does the next best thing – go through his laundry to pick up clues on his character.
“It’s like a hall of mirrors, cheekily playing on our expectations and testing to see if we would be as quick as Ah Bee to judge a person by what he wears,” reveals Yeo.
He thinks the main actors and the supporting actors are very good in the film and for that reason he hopes the work gets a wider audience.

Dear Feline and other Fellow Readers,
I just thought I should write yet another more of a long-read post. Firstly, Kitty are you or are you not coming back month end? Well, if you do...Grrreat!!!; if you don't it's okay as it's not too far from December anyways.
For those who read my blog, you would've read about my invitation to backpack from here right up to Europe. For those who don't, well now you know. It is of course a very, very tempting invite. My friend is planning to start the journey in February and that somehow makes it a sort-of dilemma or not. Well, as we all know by now that I have the plan to go abroad to teach English, right? And well it is supposed to take place next year, so that I could get my now bigger ass to New York as soon as possible to study. I did think about it and I felt that I could definately teach as we travel, but of course it wouldn't save me the money to get to New York within the time-frame of as-soon-as-possible now could it? Then again, you never know, I may somehow miraculously find a way to teach in Europe where I would be making Euros! At the same time, be bedding exotic brunette hunky Europeans. Okay, the latter is just a fantasy.
Yeah, thought I'd share and see what you girls have to say. The best part is I would have free accommodations at some places in Europe. Good stuff indeed. Don't ask me how much it's going to cost because I choose not to disclose that information.
On another note...
Is anyone sick and tired of the haze yet? For the umpteen time this is happening.
Oh and hey, someone (probably the neighbour) lodged a report to the SPCA about my dogs. So the SPCA paid me a visit on a Sunday, catching me all groggy and bad-breath(ed) as I was woken up from sleep to see what was the fuss about. Apprently, the complainers were under the impression that we (the household) were not attending to our two (now almost bald) dogs. Can't exactly remember what were the first few things that the SPCA Inspector said but this is what I remember : "...ulcer in the mouth...skin problem...". I stood there listening to whatever she had to say before I started telling her the full-story about what happens behind closed doors. In the end, we ended up talking about what else does SPCA do. They even actually offered me financial assistance!!!! Do you know how nice it was to hear that? So, anyway....obviously nothing happened as I AM NOT EVEN WORKING TO TAKE CARE OF MY DOG. Yes, hence the shortage of finance. Daym!! I don't want to resolve to going to the SPCA as the animals there need the finance more than just one dog, plus mom's doing abit better now. So, yeah...
Okay enough about me.
Kitty, I know you're busy with whatever you're doing which is I don't know what also man, but err... write more la woi! :p
