weee!

i went swimming today! =) much happiness!

attended a murder mystery dinner theatre held at the Banker's Club last month. it was a fictional annual dinner for a fictional company. it was organized by The KL Players. the posters had this written on it - "Everyone is a suspect! And if there is a murderer on the loose - no-one is safe." oooh.. *eyes widen*

these are a few pictures taken a few hours before the dinner started. i was there to hang around while idiot was doing soundcheck. the reason why i was there is because idiot asked me to go along; it was going to be interesting, he said. and that's what i thought too, it's not a regular dinner, it was one that's filled with drama.

the interiors remind me a lot of the game Cluedo. the wood panels, the chandeliers! the details found on every wall.. i think it's a very good venue for the murder mystery dinner.

all tables decorated with a plate of cherry syrup in the middle - a depiction of a bloody night in tow..

i could see times square from one of the windows.. and it was a very hazy day..

see the hazy sky? tsk!

this is one of the crime scenes of the night, as u can see, the masking tape used to mark where someone died. *gasp*

the story goes like this.. Mr Georgio Armada, the "CEO" of "Club Bankero" was murdered on the day of the annual dinner.. and there were a number of suspects wandering around the dinner hall that night.. we were each given a piece of paper and a pencil to jot down notes as we gather information on who murdered, how, where, why and when of the incident. the night started when all guests arrived in their suits and gowns, sipping cocktails, lighting cigarettes, exchanging banters, chewing on snacks in the lounge area, where idiot was playing a few numbers on the baby grand. i didnt know anyone there so i hung out and chatted with idiot.

silence cut through the air when suddenly a woman started crying very loudly - she was the CEO's "P.A." and she found the CEO's "body".. that's when the "police" came into the room to calm everyone down. it was then that everyone was informed to go into the dinner hall and that anybody could be a suspect now.

the "suspects" would be walking around tables telling their stories.. and with that, we'd be gathering information.. among the suspects, there were the young wife ,the daughter who got cut out from the will, the distant cousin, the chauffeur, the PA, the man who's taking over the company etc. it was quite a drama throughout the whole night especially when 2 other murders took place! the plot became thick and we were left to find out what happened! who could it be? who?? could it be the young wife? because she has everything to gain when her husband dies? or the daughter? who may have murdered her daddy dearest out of anger after finding out that she was cut out of the will? or the distant cousin? because of a family feud? noone knows! *gasp* or the chauffeur?

idiot wasn't at the dinner table because he was at the hallway doing some of the sound system things, so i went to visit him from time to time, and look who i found? A Detective! hah! towards the end, the detective went in to the dinner hall, concentrating in finding for clues everywhere..

in the end, the "bukit aman polis" announced who murdered Mr Georgio Armada. there were two - the young wife and the distant cousin. the officers came forward with hand cuffs and captured the murderers. everyone applauded. it was a good job done - especially with the "police" cracking jokes every now and then and with everyone's acting, i felt like i was in a movie. only 4 tables managed to guess correctly. anyway, here's a 2 minutes video clip of bad recording of that night. heh.

idiot was holding the camera at one point, and i was waiting for him to get a good picture of me and THIS, is the best one taken. -_- hmphhh! i then remind myself to calm down. Idiot - there is no other nickname that suits him.

quite a night!

hope u have a wonderful birthday celebration, kitty. here's wishing u a happy happy day ahead with all your wishes come true.. i'm here to wish you on behalf of the whole feline crew. many hugs from all.

I've not been reading for quite a while now, in fact I have several unfinished books still in boxes in the garage downstairs. Mom did give me a book few weeks before I left. I'm sure many of you would've heard of the book, Purpose Driven Life. Well, for those of you who has never even heard of it, let me just tell you that the author is a Pastor. Heh. Yes, my mom gave me a Christian book to read, despite knowing that I'm an Atheist. Well, you can't blame a mother for trying can you?

I have/had read a few chapters of it, and yes, there is a mention of God in every chapter. Now, I'm not going to stop reading it simply because I'm an Atheist and the book has probably the word God in every single page. Should this book really help me discover my very purpose, I've got nothing to lose right? After all, reading is never a waste of time. While I'm sharing with you my dear readers, on what I am or am not reading, I am now reading another book.

My bad habit of of reading several different books at a go has definitely got to go out the window, as more often than not, I end up not finishing any at all. Ah well, looks like kicking the habit has got to wait till I do finish one of these two books.

The second book I'm about to share with you, feels as though it was a destiny that I found the book. I know, I sound as though I've had a revelation of some sort. Heh. Well, its simply because... (beware this post could end up long and without visuals. deng.deng.deng.)

For the longest time, I've lived by the motto of No Regrets. Whatever happens, happens. You deal with it and you accept the fact that it has happen. Only until a few years ago did I adopt a new belief, if I may call it that.. Living is all About Giving. Somehow, one day in my life I wanted to give and give some more. I'm not going to go into details how that moment changed my life, but I'm just going to share how that word and the second book comes together.

Yesterday I bought the book entitled The Kindness of Strangers.

I woke up feeling lazy and not wanting to get out of bed immediately. It was kind of cold and the warmth of the blanket, just made me want to stay in bed a little longer. Julian had already left for work and I had time to do anything I want. So, I turned on my lap top to see if I had any movies or commercials to watch, just to pass the time till I'm ready to go to the bathroom. I clicked on this file labeled TMC, not remembering what was it. Definitely not the market in Lucky Garden. :)

Turns out it was a video from my uncle, The Moses Code. Now, I only watched the first 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the grime in my mouth. Heh. For those of you who have watched The Secret, well it's a similar kinda video. So, anyway... in the first 10 minutes, what I got from the video was a sure-shot way to remember to live the way they share with you to. With that, they used GOD as a reminder. Haha. Well, not God per-se, but they made GOD into an abbreviation. And so, G happened to be Giving. I thought to myself, hmmm...interesting, but I didn't continue watching. Haha. I did however finish the video at the end of the day.

So after the 10 minutes of video, I got ready and went into the city to meet up with Julian for lunch. After lunch,I took a walk around town to try to get something to read while I lepak in the shop.I spent a good half and hour or so walking all three floors in the bookstore, I couldn't find anything of interest. I even looked at stationary at one point, gossip magazines too! I went back downstairs ready to exit the store, but somehow the travel books section caught my attention and I decided to browse through there. Not with the intention of getting a guide book, but more a traveler's journal. Unfortunately, nothing was interesting.

Felt like I wasn't meant to buy a new book or something. Decided it was time for me to leave then, just as I was walking out, I noticed there was another small rack right on a pillar and the book title jumped out. It read The Kindness of Strangers and guess what? It was published by Lonely Planet. It is a book of short stories of various encounters during travels by several travelers. I read the back cover of the book and it just somehow clicked to the word GIVING. Obviously, I bought the book because it felt like destiny. :)

With the word Giving stuck in my head, and the newly purchased book about Kindness, it somehow felt nice and warm, like the universe was speaking to me. Yes, I believe in the energy of the universe. I am a spiritual person, not a religious one.

I'm really enjoying the book. It's such a nice read. That's all for now. Sorry, if I may have bore you but I think this post is more from me to Garf. heh. I miss you.
