Bogus Vets Pt.2

Thanks for the insight and sharing Kitty.

My mom had went on my behalf today to pick up her blood test results and some more of the pills I've been giving her, as it somehow seems to help stop her bleeding. You know what though? As she came by to drop off the meds, she too told me that we should try consulting another vet and I asked her why. As I am very well aware that she isn't as doubtful as I am.

She told me when she got the results, all the vet said was her livers aren't that healthy. She then asked for further explanation and to her surprise, the vet said "oh you mean you want me to explain?". Damn WTF man seriously. How useless can they be?

As much as I try not to stereotype them here, it's hard not to.
The first thing the vet said to me when he found out that she had cancer was "she has cancer, it's better for you to put her to sleep". I was then thrown off guard and what not, as I was in denial that animals could have cancer too. Being uneducated in terms of animal science, I thought that his suggestion was something we had to do. I immediately called up my mom then and luckily she spoke to me without letting her emotions cloud around what choices we were to make.

Can you imagine? Only then when my mom told me what questions to ask the vet did I come to know that there was chemo. This is all thanks to my mom's years of volunteer work in HOSPIS. She knew pretty much enough innies and outies of what's cancer all about. Thus having me ask sufficient questions.

Urgh. Why does it seem that the vets here merely took on the job because they couldn't pass off to treat Humans instead? I'm sorry if I sound harsh and mean, but they are not doing justice to themselves. C'mon man, if you're a vet, you're suppose to have Love & Compassion for animals. Whether or not the owners can afford whatever treatment available, it is YOUR duty to educate and inform them, is it not? It is YOUR duty to save lives of YOUR patients dammit.

Stupid Mofos.
