Sunburst 2009

aristo & i went to the recent music fest at bukit kiara equestrian club.. i wanted (badly) for poosy to come along too.. but apparently it isn't her cup of tea?! ack.. i think there's no harm going considering the fact that we'd enjoy anyway.. bleh =P it was such tremendous fun seeing all these musicians doing their thing..! bumped into a few old friends and made some new ones.. "it's all about the people, yo!" , quoted by Pharell that night.. hehe.. well, yeah, i'm glad i was there, thanks to aristo's everlasting pester in the nick of time ..

this clip above shows the experience we had at the silent disco arena.. from the outside, it was all quiet with a bunch of people dancing and probably headbanging or shuffling.. odd, i'd say.. but that's because each and everyone was given a set of headphones to listen to, therefore quiet..

there were more than 30 groups of musicians that day! all packed into 1 day! the fest started from 2pm until 2am.. and it wasn't enough.. some of the musicians would have to perform same time, or overlap one another.. this means we would miss some.. we managed to catch one of my local favourites called estrella band.. i was thrilled..! u can watch the band for yourself by clicking the above play button.. weee!!.. like it?

the other musicians that we managed to watch were juwita suwito, hujan, meet uncle hussain, sixx, the otherside orchestra, nidji, joe flizzow, butterfingers, agrikulture, skye, naturally 7 , n.e.r.d, korn & twilight action girl.. the clip above is the intro done by butterfingers.. for some reason, i like just that part.. ;)

didn't manage to record everything down, but if anyone is up for a good set of A Capella, kindly google "naturally 7" to check these guys out.. very awesomeness.. those boys (from nyc) worked their vocal cords in such an amazing way..!! i was in a shock to hear them making sounds of musical instruments like the violin, trumpet, keyboard, synthesizer, beat box.. good stuff..

and here's a group called Sixx, from singapore.. i thought they were good, too..

towards the end, there were n.e.r.d & the ever famous korn, who took 15 years to get here.. i had a few friends who were are hardcore fans.. one of whom played in a band in college and called themselves "jagung" too.. (jagung would be the malay translation of corn. haha) i have to admit that i'm no korn fan but i do recognize the song - freak on a leash - and that's also after a fan informed me of the title.. haha.. most of us there headbanged throughout nonetheless.. the hundreds or odd crowd had such high energy level that i was sucked in to it and jumped according to rhythm during the final few sets.. sweat was spewed out and it was a good work out, i'd say..

it was a happy weekend! yay! *clap clap* ;)
