A trip to Homes

kitty & i went on a trip to my Home in Seremban last weekend. *peace*my niece greeted her guest with a warm welcome - prepared a big feast on her table
both my niece & nephew playing Music?! on the 'laptop'
mom's crops
Vinashini Home. this home caters for 54 people (out of which 34 are mentally retarded and the rest are orphans). the age of the folks here range from as young as 2 year old to adults.

the kid on the far right is blind. all he ever does is sit in the same position. the one in the middle has both her legs braced. and the boy on the left is mentally ill. he was attempting to eat a candy wrapper when i was there.

some other kids. there's one young indian girl - 17 - who works there as a caretaker.. she cleans and makes sure that the kids here do not harm themselves.. i saw a boy playing with the fire extinguisher hung on a wall.. it looked dangerous to me and the caretaker quickly stopped the boy.. one cannot take their eyes off the children.. not even for a minute..the caretaker has to be alert and attentive at all time, i find this challenging coz there are 54 children altogether.. there are a few other caretakers too..

the Makan place.. apparently the owner is a chef in some hotel in PJ.. and he cooks for the Home.. imagine.. 3 BIG meals (enough for about 60 ppl) a day!!

sooky chatting. i chatted with this lady too. she was telling me that everyone in the Home went on a chartered bus to Sunway Pyramid and the Lagoon for a visit during Xmas week.. she said got Pool of water.. got food to eat.. it was fun.. =)

after visiting the Vinashini Home, we went for seremban beef noodles and moved on to a second home - the Sejahtera Home, at Sikamat. there are 18 old folks here. my kl friend brought his mini compo and put in a Chinese New Year CD in and cheered up the whole environment right away.. one of the aunties said "WOW! VERY CHINESE NEW YEAR MOOD! VERY HAPPY!" hehe.. all of them seem very happy as they just went out on a trip in those funky classic cars.

some of us with some of the old folks..
